Howrah House sits on London Road, directly outside the property is a listed pavement which also acts as a vehicle entrance. This pavement was formerly a road, Inner London Road, which still exists to the south of the property.

On the northern side of the building is a Grade II listed regency building called "Regency House". On the southern side is a double Georgian building 74 and 75 London Road. Various other listed buildings are on either side to the north and south.
