Mathieson's Directory of 1867 v2

HH sale 1973

Property sale offer in Kent and Sussex Courier 30 March 1973

A lease exists from 1853 between John Hodgson and others and Elizabeth Hodgson and Charlotte Ann Fuller.  Parts of this lease are still used in today's leasehold arrangements.

There are some interesting clauses, no hanging out washing etc.

It was originally constructed as two apartments.

From a sale of contents details in 1910 it was well furnished.

In April 1973 the whole building was sold for £29,000. At the time it was described as 5 self contained flats,  one vacant and providing a gross annual income of £1,275 per annum exclusive.

In 1955 the property was split into 5 individual flats, one per floor. Interior staircases were removed.

At some time prior to this conversion a staircase to Flats 3, 4 and 5 was added on the north side and this became the entrance to these three properties.
